Places to Visit this Summer in the UK for Lovers of Aviation

Summer is a great time of year to do some travelling around the UK and go and visit new places. If you have a particular interest in something you can combine that with your travels too! For anyone who is enthused by all things aviation, then there are plenty of places that you can go and see over the summer – here are some suggestions for you…

Aerospace Bristol is a great place to go – Bristol has played a big part in aviation through the years and of course the most well-known aircraft that has come out of this city of course is Concorde. Although sadly no longer flying, you can see one of the original Concorde aircraft here and get onboard too!

If you want something really interactive, Tattenhall near Chester is the place to go. If you are on holiday in the area at somewhere like this Chester luxury spa breaks hotel https://rowtonhallhotel.co.uk/the-spa then why not book a Boeing 747 simulator environment. You can sit in a realistic cockpit and take off and land one of the most well-known aircraft ever.

The war museum at Duxford is another firm favourite with people who love the history of aviation. Here you will find a fantastic collection of historic aircraft which is arranged throughout numerous hangars. You can see classic military aircraft from history as well as more modern ones, and the site is actually on an old airfield with a history all of its own.
