Fantastic Walks in Kent

Kent is a county that really has it all. If you are thinking that a staycation in the UK is the most sensible idea this summer – not having to worry about traffic light systems, quarantine, testing or last minute travel changes mean that many people have decided a staycation is certainly the best option this year – and Kent is a county that is perfect for a holiday!

There is something for everyone in Kent – from local things to do in Margate, the traditional seaside town with fish and chips aplenty, arcades and seaside fun, to the beautiful countryside that will show you why Kent is known as the garden of England.

To see the beauty of the county, there are plenty of walking routes that you can enjoy on your holiday – if you are looking for a beautiful country walk, then try one of these routes…

Scotney Castle – This idyllic walk in the grounds of the castle is so romantic and perfect for a couple on holiday. The castle was actually built in Victorian times, but you will also find the ruins of an old motte and baily castle in the grounds here too.

Chartwell – Head to the family home of World War 2 prime minister Winston Churchill and enjoy the beautiful woodlands and gardens in the grounds of this beautiful estate.

Coastal Walk – The walk along the stunning coastline that leads to Broadstairs will certainly blow the cobwebs away! You can also take in the amazing Turner gallery which is built on the site of his home in Margate.
